As the Pastor of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, I believe we must embrace spiritual growth, mutual care and service, assured that as we serve our neighbors, we joyfully serve God.
I believe that God loves all people so much that He sent His only begotten son, Jesus, to pay a debt He did not owe, so that we, who owe the debt that we could not pay, could be rescued from our sins. This is the Gospel, and it is bigger than we could ever imagine. His love reaches far beyond anything that we can fathom, is broader than we know, and is wider than we can ever conceive. His love has reached across a divide that is wider than anything we've ever known. Nothing can compare to God's great love. The Gospel not only rescues us, it motivates us to worship Him, to obey Him and to follow Jesus every day. It also drives us to share God's love with our families, our friends, and our community.
As we live out this boundless Gospel in our lives, living day to day in His abundant grace, we realize that everything we have - our time, resources, energy , and possessions - is all from God, to be used to glorify Him and to share with the world. Simply put, we are blessed to be a blessing. We believe that this overflowing generosity has the power to transform, not only our community, but the entire world.
As we follow the great commission in Matthew 28:19-20, "Go ye therefore to teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you", we become a church whose message is so clear that lives are being changed by the power of the Holy Spirit. As we continue to make this commission and pray our priority and is constantly calling out for the power of God to transform lives we are creating a heartfelt worship that is devoted to oneness. As we move forward in this community we will continue to be a church where all people are accepted and loved, regardless of age, race, or background. A church committed and devoted to caring for the physical and spiritual needs of the poor. A Christ-centered church where the un-compromised Gospel is being taught and preached. A church that will bring GLORY to God.
